About

Venture Backed by Vision. Grounded in Data.

Investigate is a hands-on venture firm focused on early-stage startups with network effects.

We bring operational experience, investing discipline, and a thesis-driven model grounded in the economics of networks.

Investment Philosophy

We believe the most valuable startups are those where usage creates momentum — businesses that improve as they scale, generating a flywheel of user value, data, and ecosystem strength.

  • A fund scope that scales beyond $500M and a unique very early-stage deal flow through global partnerships, giving us privileged access to co-invest in over 300 top startups from a universe of over 1 million.

  • We know how to leverage technology to drive results. We leverage our proprietary AI and data platforms to scale our portfolio companies faster and more efficiently.

  • Trust is everything. We are commitment to trust and governance, backing companies that prioritize responsible innovation, strong ethics, and long-term societal impact.

We have a proven model

Our first fund delivered top-quartile returns with a 28% net IRR and 5x MOIC, validating our thesis and fueling our expansion. Investigate VC is designed to offer shorter investment horizons through a 5+5 year fund structure, providing greater liquidity and flexibility for our investors.

Rooted in Singapore and Scandinavia, and operating across Europe, Asia, and North America, Investigate VC focuses on Seed to Series B opportunities where value creation is strongest.

We believe that the future belongs to those who build ecosystems where every participant creates more value together than they ever could alone.

Leadership Team

A global team of investors, founders, and operators with a shared obsession for the mechanics of growth. We've built brands, scaled platforms, exited companies — and now help others do the same.

  • Mikael Krogh

    PARTNER | FOUNDER

Mikael Krogh is the Founder and a Partner at Investigate VC, where he launched the firm’s first fund in 2018 to back companies structured around network effects — businesses where usage, participation, or data fundamentally strengthen the product.

Mikael brings a rare combination of investor depth and operational experience. He began his career as an equity analyst at one of Norway’s largest funds, Postbanken Verdipapirfond, before transitioning into private investment firms focused on venture and growth. His work has spanned early-stage investing, company building, and fund management across Europe and Asia.

In 2010, he relocated to Singapore to help establish BW Ventures, the corporate venture arm of BW Group, where he led investments and strategic initiatives at the intersection of industry and innovation.

At Investigate VC, Mikael now leads investment strategy and firm building — applying a long-term, systems-driven lens to how technology companies scale and how venture capital itself can be restructured around networked value creation.

  • Michael Pomerleau

    PARTNER | CO-FOUNDER

Prior to co-founding Investigate, Michael led investment teams with a combined portfolio value exceeding $10B across Europe, the Far East, and Southeast Asia during his tenure at A.P. Moller–Maersk and with multiple Private Equity partners. His strategic and first principles leadership in multiple investment and corporate domains laid the foundation for a career focused on systems thinking and scalable innovation in core industries.

He has also a co-founded multiple VC endeavours including Motion Ventures’ first fund, and has played a pivotal role in Asia’s venture ecosystem through his work as a partner at Rainmaking — one of Europe’s largest accelerators and venture studios (known for Startupbootcamp) — as well as through founding multiple startup platforms across the region.

At Investigate VC, Michael focuses on fund strategy, platform design, and constructs to scale capital in core domains that matter - leveraging network effects to unlock compounding value across the portfolio and ecosystem at a new order of magnitude.

  • May Hald

    HEAD OF INVESTOR RELATIONS

May Hald is Head of Investor Relations at Investigate VC, where she leads engagement with LPs, partners, and the broader ecosystem — helping shape the capital, collaboration, and community around the fund’s global thesis.

With a background spanning startups, venture capital, public funding, and national innovation strategy, May brings a unique systems-level perspective to how early-stage ventures scale — and how network effects can be leveraged not only in products, but in how ecosystems are built.

Prior to joining Investigate, she advised a wide range of organizations across sectors and geographies — from government agencies and multi-asset investment funds to early-stage founders — on business development, fundraising, and international growth strategies.

She’s driven by a belief in long-term alignment, infrastructure-driven growth, and the transformative power of well-designed networks.
